Eastern Sierra Fishing Opener Update.

The fishing opener in the Eastern Sierra was a resounding success, with anglers enjoying excellent weather and abundant fish. The conditions are ideal for a fruitful summer season, as there is plenty of water in the lakes and streams.

Anglers were very happy with their success on Crowley Lake and the surrounding area. For me personally the East Walker was our main focus through the past week. Flows are at 260 cfs and the water is as clean and clear as I’ve seen in quite some time with tons of fish to keep you busy.  The Upper Owens river received a large number of stocked fish in the Browns Camp Ground area that are now moving through the system along with holdover Crowley fish. The Lower Owens is now at 522 cfs so its pretty much done for the season. Fishing right now is very productive, whatever your preferred destination might be. The pristine beauty of the Eastern Sierra added to the overall experience, making it a perfect week for fishing enthusiasts. This weekend winter decided to show its face again but the coming week looks beautiful. As things warm up we can only expect fishing conditions to improve.
