The mornings are crisp and the days are getting shorter. After a long hot summer we are finally getting some relief. We have seen some great midge hatches through this last week and the fish seem eager and willing with the cooling temperatures.

In the coming months our season is winding down once again. I want to thank everyone that has come out and fished this summer. However it isn't over just yet. September and October are a few of the best months Crowley Lake has to offer. This is the time of year we see those colored up Brown Trout and acrobatic Rainbows. We should also see fish start to push up into the Owens, providing some good river action. The East Walker River has been off limits to us for most of the summer due to low flows and high water temps but things are changing. Currently the flow on the EW is hovering around 70-80 CFS, which is fishable. Water temps are down and there has been some good bug activity. Stay tuned and check out the Wild Fly Anglers Instagram page for recent updates and photos.

I have some great stuff in the works for next season and I can't wait to get everyone involved. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or interest about your next trip.

I look forward to seeing you on the water.
